A girl and her horse/best friend and confidante. Does anyone else have these memories as a kid? I spent hours with my horse. It was the best $300 I ever spent. I got a mare and her colt when I was in grade 3. I rode bareback with no boots or shoes. I remember jumping up to get on "reds" back and I didn't quite have enough power so when I landed Red took a slight step to rebalance and she stepped right on my toe. Yes it was broke! Oh well, it didn't stop me from spending all my time with her and her colt. What great memories I have of growing up on the farm. I was blessed to have such opportunities.
